Kerala is going through the worst of times and the entire nation is shaken and traumatized by the havoc caused in the state of Kerala due to the recent torrential rains and subsequent floods. Hundreds have died and lakhs are homeless, and Kerala has to rebuild itself after the worst floods in over a century. The sufferings of our fellow countrymen in Kerala are vast and beyond measure and SCAD-Nirman reached out to the affected people in Kerala at this moment of grief and distress by contributing DD of Rs.250,000/- and do its bit in mitigating the effect of the flood during the worst times the state is battling with and as a way of expressing our solidarity.
It was a time of giving back and the self help groups and communities of SCAD adopted villages volunteered to give and also raise funds to support the helpless and the needy fellow countrymen of Kerala, besides the management, staff and students of SCAD Group.
On behalf of SCAD, Dr Cletus Babu offered DD for Rupees 25 lakhs for Kerala Flood Relief to the Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr Pinarayi Vijayan, at Trivandrum Secretariat on 23rd August 2018. An overwhelmed Chief Minister heartily thanked SCAD-Nirman for this benign and benevolent act. Indeed, it’s a long road to recovery for Kerala that is reeling under flood fury and rehabilitation needs to be undertaken on a warfootoing. The state needs a lot of funds to repair the damaged infrastructure, limp back to normal and help people rebuild their lives.
Let’s hope and pray that the situation will soon improve.
