It always has been SCAD’s wish to develop students in an exceptional way. The staff of Anbu Illam (School for differently-abled children) Cheranmahadevi, took an initiative to give special coaching to the special students in such a way that they could try for the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) State Board examinations for the academic year 2016-2017. As a result, 3 differently abled children were given special care and training by SCAD staff to appear for the Board examination.

The exams began in March 2017 and approximately 9 lakh students in Tamil Nadu appeared for the examination, this year.
All the three Anbu Illam students who had registered and appeared for the board exams, Mahendiran R., Nambirajan A. and Joshuva Ranjith Singh R., have passed the examination, securing 520 marks out of 1000 and 590 marks out of 1000 and 538 marks out of 1000, respectively.
