With support from Province SCAD was able to buy the second CBR mobile van and modify it appropriately. Mobile CBR units are the best and most viable solution and SCAD’s new mobile van along with the previous mobile van is providing exemplary Rehabilitation and healthcare services with the objective of awareness, diagnosis, cure and referrals to the differently abled people in remote villages, who are often economically very poor.
Various equipment suitable to the needs of the people is carried to the door steps of the disabled people in the villages in these mobile vans for the benefit of the differently abled persons.
After necessary modifications and appropriate adaptations, the new mobile van was launched open on 25th April, at a simple event in Thamburan Colony, Tirunelveli, in the presence of the Belgian volunteers, followed by a CBR mobile camp in the same village. Since then, work has been doubled with four mobile camps a week as had already been proposed by SCAD Nirman, that is, 16 camps a month, thereby trying to meet the huge demand in the villages for CBR work. As such, both the mobile vans are providing commendable health care service among the differently abled people living in far away villages.
